Banking Courts deal with recovery of finances by banks and financial institutions, and the proceedings that follow a decree. They sit in the larger cities, and a firm on either side of that work — for the bank or for the customer — lives in them.
Where it sits
The principal seat is Karachi. It also sits at Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Bahawalpur. A date given at one is not a date at another, which is why the bench belongs in the record with the date.
What a firm has to track
Recovery work runs to a rhythm: a suit, an application, an objection, an execution. What a firm has to track is the stage rather than the date alone, because the fee and the client's question both depend on it. A diary that shows only the next hearing cannot answer "where has this got to".
