Courts in Islamabad

Islamabad is the only city with three superior courts in it: the Supreme Court, the Federal Shariat Court and the Islamabad High Court, which has a single seat and no benches. Add the federal tribunals — service, tax, industrial relations — and a practice here is weighted towards appellate and constitutional work rather than trials. The capital territory has no tehsils at all, which is why a diary built on tehsil names alone cannot record a Supreme Court matter.
