The forum
Additional District & Sessions Judges exercise the same jurisdiction as the District & Sessions Judge, and a district will have several of them. A matter is listed before a particular court, and that is part of where it is. Which Additional Court a matter goes to is an allocation rather than a choice, and it can change. On the criminal side these courts carry much of the sessions trial work; on the civil side, appeals from the civil courts.
Where it sits

The court number is the detail firms leave out and then need. "District court, Tuesday" is not enough to find a matter in a building with eight courtrooms sitting at once, and the associate sent to cover it is the one who pays for the omission. The court number belongs beside the date in the record, and a firm needs to see when two of its matters are listed in different rooms at the same hour — a decision about who goes where, taken the day before rather than in the corridor.
